Sometimes Photoshops Clone Stamp Tool can be difficult to use, and it’s not the perfect fit for every cloning situation.

In this video I’ll show you an alternative method of cloning that doesn’t use any of the various cloning tools (like the patch tool and the various healing brushes)…

This technique is as simple as it gets, but is often a better solution than the tools specifically designed for cloning…

In this video I’m showing you a quick photoshop technique to help you refine and hone in on the perfect luminosity mask, using the dodge and burn tools.

The amount of isolation a luminosity mask provides depends on the amount of contrast within it. So when you preview your luminosity mask, the more greys in the preview, the less isolation and the more blended the two layers will be. The more black and white in the preview, the more isolation there’ll be between those objects.

Once you’ve created a luminosity mask, there’ll be times where you want to fine tune its contrast manually in certain areas. And that’s where the dodge and burn tools come in.

If you’re not already familiar with luminosity masking then I’ll recommend checking out some of the links to my other youtube videos here:
